Reality Claim Ladder
Claims about reality become progressively stronger. Evidence that supports one level cannot automatically be promoted into evidence for the levels above it.
The ladder
- Constructed perception: biological systems actively construct experienced perception.
- Informational reality: information is fundamental or unusually important to physical description.
- Computed reality: reality is literally generated by computation.
- Intentionally designed reality: an intelligence deliberately constructed the experienced system.
- Externally participating consciousness: an experiencer exists beyond the local embodied system and interacts with it.
- Imposed embodiment: participation is assigned or constrained rather than simply chosen or emergent.
- Confinement or prison: the system is deliberately restrictive in a hostile or coercive sense.
What is established?
Human perception is strongly shaped and constructed by nervous systems. Physics can be described using mathematical and informational frameworks. Neither fact establishes literal computation, an external designer, an external experiencer, imposed embodiment, or a prison.
Tony Canon / interpretation
Tony’s mature cosmology favors an intentionally structured experiential reality and a persistent-experiencer model. Those stronger propositions are recorded as Tony Canon or hypothesis rather than being presented as conclusions forced by quantum physics or information theory.
Strongest alternative
Ordinary physical law, emergent complexity and brain-dependent consciousness can generate many of the same observations without requiring simulation, external participation or imposed embodiment. Compatibility with several models is not discrimination between them.
What remains unknown?
No currently established empirical discriminator in this corpus uniquely demonstrates imposed reality. The stronger rungs therefore remain open questions.
